So my name is Darren and I have an awesome roommate named Kile. We have five kittens and one cat. Both of us have a dream of becoming .com millionairs. Right now our status is BROKE. Pretty harsh word, right? So we are tired of being broke and were ready to get in gear. Kile and I are starting a challenge as of now. We will try to write a blog entry every day. This entry will include what weve done for the day to bring us closer to our personal goal. We will try to explain how much we have made every day and how!
Google Adsense Interest-Based Advertising
Recently got an email from the good ol’ Google company.

We’re writing to let you know about the upcoming launch of interest-based advertising, which will require you to review and make any necessary changes to your site’s privacy policies. You’ll also see some new options on your Account Settings page.
Interest-based advertising will allow advertisers to show ads based on a user’s previous interactions with them, such as visits to advertiser website and also to reach users based on their interests (e.g. “sports enthusiast”). To develop interest categories, we will recognize the types of web pages users visit throughout the Google content network. As an example, if they visit a number of sports pages, we will add them to the “sports enthusiast” interest category. How to Make Websites and Make Money Online
This post is mainly for the people I work along side with at my job. Some of them are curious to Make Money Online and I am writing this to show them how instead of me just standing there trying to describe it.
Thinking of a .com name
First off you need yourself a .com name. You can use .org, .net, .whatever but remember what is the most typed in website name? Let’s say you own Joesmoes.org people might remember the Joesmoes part but they type in Joesmoes.com because they are so used to the .com. Everything basic people do is type in .com for there myspace, facebook, etc. It is important to have a domain that is relevant to what you want to have. Once you have figured what you want you want you need to register it.
Registering a domain
Once you have a .com figured out you gotta see if its taken. I personally use godaddy or namecheap. Namecheap seems easier to me. More than likely the domain name you want is taken it happens to the best of us so don’t fret. Try different words to what you want but still mean the same thing. Once you figured one thats not taken and you want it then go and get it. Godaddy is the cheapest place to get .com’s. I used them first and they were good until I discovered namecheap.com To me namecheap is way easier but is it worth paying the extra $1 to get the .com. Once you finally get the domain you want you now need hosting. Why hosting? Well you need to get a server to host all your files so people can view your site.

Updated to Wordpress 2.7
I recently updated the site to wordpress 2.7 can you see the difference? Well you shouldn’t but I do. That’s because all the changes are right in the admin panel. At this moment I am using QuickPress which is located right in the main dashboard panel. Its really nifty I need to look around and see where everything is at.
Bought a New Computer
For the past few months I have been using a hand me down Acer Aspire 3680 and let me tell you it blows. It’s okay for basic stuff but I use the web for everything and I need something with more POWER! Living on my own and not having that great of a job I can’t buy something I really want unfortunately. I however had some cash and I wanted something badly that will put this laptop to shame! I was on Tiger Direct and found a refurbished eMachines W3653 computer. Now that computer was only $230 Thats for shipping and TAX! My order was just the right amount. For the $1.99 Shipping. It had to be over $100 and under 35 pounds which mine was just right. It should arrive in about 3-5 days. I am so excited. It’s a dual core computer with a 1gb ram so its twice as good as my current laptop. I just hope it serves me well. Now all I need is a desk.
